The mission of VECHS Fingerprinting is to protect children, the elderly, and the disabled by Checking the Background of Persons who work with these vulnerable groups. State and Nationwide FBI Background Screenings are authorized by the National Child Protection Act (NCPA) (1993) as well as Florida Statute 943.0542
IDENTICO has an extensive and ongoing relations with VECHS entities in South Florida. Majority of our clients using VECHS program are private and charter schools, non-profit organizations offering mentoring and educational services to children and families in distress, Athletic and Sport Clubs offering training and recreational activities to children and vulnerable adults, Nursing and Medical School Students required to undergo screening process due to regulations placed by Joint Commission Accredited facilities where such students receive their clinical rotations, Municipalities and Water Treatment Facilities. Theoretically any entity which provides care, treatment, education, training, instruction, supervision, or recreation to children, the elderly, or individuals with disabilities may receive and approval from FDLE to screen its employee and volunteers through VECHS Program.
We at IDENTICO understand the importance of VECHS program implementation, therefore our screening rates are highly competitive both for “No Appointment Required” office visits, as well as at convenient Mobile Fingerprinting Services. Our office is located at 4012 SW 18th St, Hollywood, FL 33023 and the cost of screening is only $47.25/Volunteer (VECHS Number starts with letter “V”) and $54.25 /Employee ( VECHS Number starts with letter “E”). With our portable Live Scan Fingerprinting units we provide VECHS Screenings to entities at Broward, Miami, Palm Beach and Treasure Coast Counties. Travel fees are waived if group carries more than 15 applicants at single location.
*Important fact is that DCF is responsible for ensuring persons working in summer camps meet the requirements for background screening. If you previously conducted the screening on your applicants through VECHS, that clearance cannot be extended for provision of care at summer camp. The reason is quite simple, three state agencies – AHCA, DCF and DFS are exempt per state law and eligible to receive applicant’s juvenile, sealed or expunged records, and these agencies may disqualify applicants based on the records they may receive. VECHS Entities do not receive sealed records.
